Quilt exhibit opens Sunday in Windom
WINDOM — “Minnesota Memories,” a new Remick Gallery summer art show, opens Sunday in the Remick Gallery, located in the Cottonwood County Historical Society, i812 Fourth Ave., Windom.
The exhibit features 30 quilts by Carter, a Mountain Lake native who now resides in Alexandria, Va. She is an award-winning quilter, author, historian, researcher and activist. Through quilting, she expresses her love of the Minnesota prairie and woodlands as well as telling stories about hidden histories and ordinary people. The exhibit runs through Sept. 1.
A reception will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday with an artist talk at 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon. Admission is free.
