ATV falls through ice on Lake Bemidji
BEMIDJI, Minn. - No one was hurt when an all-terrain vehicle fell through the ice on Lake Bemidji on Wednesday morning, April 25.
According to a Facebook post by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, the ATV went through the ice just offshore of Cameron Park.
Though there is still 30 inches of ice on some areas of the lake, the ice is retracting from the shore and thickness is not consistent, the post said. Ice will rapidly melt and deteriorate, and some areas are “very unsafe.”
The ATV was able to be pulled to shore.
